Intro

Ganga Sahay Meena is an academician, motivational speaker and founder editor of Adivasi Sahitya magazine. He is also known for his editorial articles published in various newspapers and his participation in news debates in various news channels.

Early Life

Ganga Sahay Meena was born in Sewa village of Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. He did his Master's, M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi after completing his initial education at local schools and colleges.

Teaching

Ganga Sahay Meena has been a faculty member at Jawaharlal Nehru University since April 2007, after teaching at Delhi University and Pondicherry University. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Center for Indian Languages, JNU. He has been appointed as a member of the JNU Academic Council and JNU Court. He is a member of the Board of Studies, School of Languages, Literature and Culture Studies, JNU. He also served as Visiting Professor at Ankara University, Ankara (Turkey) through the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, 2018-19, and thrice as Visiting Professor at the University of Turin (Italy). He is the Course Coordinator of the online course ‘Origin and Development of Hindi Language’ for the Swayam platform, funded and operated by the Government of India.

Awards/Honours

Ganga Sahay Meena was awarded with Dalit Adivasi Samvad Lekhan Puraskar 2011, Rukmani Devi Yuva Puraskar 2017 and Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Award 2025. He was nominated as a member of the Rajasthan Sahitya Academy.
